Robot 3 has definitely become one of the most talked-about projects on our team. When we first started, the idea was pretty straightforward: build a robot that could shoot balls directly into the basket. It was a classic setup, simple, efficient, and exactly what you'd expect from a competitive robot. Everyone figured it would be all about precision and scoring points.
But somewhere along the way, we decided to shake things up.
Instead of sticking with the original plan, we redesigned Robot 3 so that it shoots the ball back in the direction it came from. It was a pretty big shift, and it caught a lot of people off guard. Some weren’t sure what to make of it, while others thought it was a clever twist - something unexpected that challenged the usual way of doing things.
We’ve heard all kinds of feedback, but we’ve stuck with our decision. Robot 3 still sends the ball back, just like we intended. And honestly, we’re proud of that. It’s a reminder that innovation doesn’t always mean following the obvious path. Sometimes, the most interesting ideas come from flipping the script - and that’s exactly what Robot 3 does.
